Open Box Sanrio Little Twin Stars: What to Know Before Buying

Quick answer

An open box Sanrio Little Twin Stars figure is a collectible that has been removed from its original blind box packaging, not a defective product. Buy it when you want a specific character without gambling on a sealed box, but check the listing's condition notes and size details first.

Why open box listings exist for blind box figures

Blind boxes hide which figure you get until you open the package. Once a box is opened, that figure can no longer be sold as sealed, so sellers list it as open box and show exactly which character is inside. That is the main appeal: you trade the surprise for certainty.

This also means open box stock is usually limited to whatever was pulled, so the exact character may not restock. If a specific Little Twin Stars design is the reason you're buying, treat the listing as one-of-a-kind rather than waiting for a better moment.

What open box does not tell you

Open box describes packaging status, not condition. A figure can be opened, displayed briefly, and still look new, or it can be opened and show scuffs, missing accessories, or a faded paint edge. The label alone doesn't guarantee either outcome.

The catalog entry for the Sweetie Paradise Little Twin Stars figure lists PVC/ABS material and an age guidance of 15 and up, but it does not list accessories or a display stand. Don't assume extras are included; ask the seller directly if a stand or alternate parts matter to you.

Where the Top Toy Sweetie Paradise series fits

The Top Toy Sanrio Sweetie Paradise series is a Sanrio collectible line, and Little Twin Stars is one of its character options. If you're building a Sanrio shelf, an open box single is often the cheapest way to add a specific character without buying multiple sealed boxes hoping to pull it.

Keep scale in mind. The catalog lists a height of about 3.54 inches for a related open box figure in this store, so check the stated height on the exact listing you're buying rather than assuming all Sweetie Paradise figures are the same size.

Open box Sanrio buying questions, answered

Is an open box figure used?

Not necessarily. Open box means the packaging was opened; the figure may be unplayed with or may show light handling. Read the seller's condition description and photos before assuming either. If condition isn't stated, ask before paying.

Will I get the exact Little Twin Stars character shown?

Yes, that's the point of an open box listing. Unlike a sealed blind box, the open box listing identifies the specific figure, so you know which character you're buying.

What should I confirm about size and contents?

Check the listed height and whether a stand or accessories are included. The catalog notes that measurements can vary by 1 to 3 cm and that color may differ due to lighting and photography, so treat the photo as a guide, not a color match. Measure your shelf space before ordering.

Is an open box figure a good deal?

Compare the open box price with the sealed-box price for the same series. You're paying for certainty about the character, so the open box premium or discount should make sense against that convenience.
